1. How do I start the process as a first time customer?

We would like to be comfortable with your dog staying at the Companion Family℠’s home while you are away. To do this we schedule a trial sleepover, for a couple of reasons. The first reason is to ensure that both the Companion Family and your dog will be acclimated and comfortable with each other before you go away for a long period of time. The second reason is that the trial will allow for us to take care of any unanswered questions about your dog before you go away. If anything comes up during this time, we can easily reach you, rather than trying to reach you while you are traveling. Other than that, pack their FlipFlop Dogs bag with their sleepover necessities. We will pick your dog up at your house on the scheduled time and date.
Our Companion Families are very important to us. We don’t want your dog to go to just any home. We only accept Companion Families that we would feel comfortable sending our own dogs to. We carefully select our Companion Families and require that they have been through a thorough interview process, including a home inspection and background screening.
Our Companion Families provide around the clock attention to fill every need that your dog has. Our Companion Families do not work outside of the home and they never have more than one customer’s dog(s) at a time. This along with providing the transportation produces a completely different experience than other services.
Imagine your dog running back into your home as if he was just out for a walk around the block with you. That’s the FlipFlop Dogs difference. We have first-hand experienced the way dogs behave when they come home from a kennel. We can assure you that after his FlipFlop Dogs vacation, he will be acting just like himself. Okay, maybe a little more tired than usual :).
Of course! FlipFlop Dogs is happy to provide you with communication by phone, video, pictures, emails and texts. Let us know how you would like to stay in contact, and you can receive as many or as little as you would like.
Our customers do not visit the Companion Family homes. However, our detailed Companion Family profiles will give you exact details as to where your dog will be staying.
We provide the transportation for you. You will be contacted by your local franchise and will set up an appointment for when you would like your dog to be picked up. All we ask is that you are there to open the door.
Both FlipFlop Dogs customers and the Companion Families have the support of their local franchise and our centralized call center 24/7. There are specific processes that are agreed upon contractually and will be followed for routine care, or even emergency care.
During the meet and greet, we would like you to address any medication issues and other problems that you can foresee your dog having while you are away. Our Companion Families provide around the clock care, so if your dog has high anxiety when you leave, they are usually comforted by having our Companion Family there 24/7. That’s why we work so hard to match your dog to the perfect Companion Family to meet your dog’s every little need.
We ensure that your dog is the Companion Family’s premier focus, by only allowing one customer’s dog(s) at a time.
Please let us know as soon as you possible. We have a cancellation policy of 7 days prior to the scheduled vacation, but please call us right away at 800.710.1740 if you anticipate a modification needed.
